SWCC launches an electronic transformation program (e-TP) to increase performance and productivity

The e-TP program started four years ago to prepare the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) for a post-privatization era. On Tuesday it enters its third phase by unveiling the ambitious i-Supplier Portal with a remarkable success.
Fehled Bin Fahd Al-Shareef, SWCC Governor, delivered a speech on behalf of Abdullah Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hussayen, Minister of Water and Electricity, at the launch of the i-Supplier Portal in Riyadh. Muhammad Abdullah Al-Khedher, SWCC Director for e-TP and Detlev Daues, Managing Director of V-LINE EUROPE GmbH were also present.
The implementation of i-Supplier Portal is part of Saudi Arabia’s e-government program and is expected to improve the relationship between SWCC and their suppliers regarding quality of work, performance and productivity. The new system will enable SWCC’s employees to communicate quickly with suppliers at national and international level.
A live demonstration was presented together with V-LINE EUROPE GmbH, SWCC’s largest supplier of equipment for desalination plants, based in Sehnde/Germany, through video conferencing. Abdullah al-Khedher, who is in charge of the project, has conducted online negotiations with officials of V-LINE. A deal was reached instantly in the presence of the audience.
