All New V-LINE.com Unveiled in Harz Mountains

V-LINE EUROPE GmbH previewed the 2nd incarnation of its website www.v-line.com in this Harz Mountain town on the opening morning of a convention of its key employees gathered from around the world. The new site, which is scheduled to go online in December, shows V-LINE as a service company providing an integrated set of services for cross border spare parts and MRO supply for capital intensive industrial plants. Attendees were from the regional offices in Brazil, China and the United States and the company's headquarters and computer support center located in Sehnde near Hanover.
The four-day convention, under the banner "V-LINE EUROPE - Managing Cross Border MRO Supply" had tracks on the five service areas that makeup modern cross border MRO supply: Parts Data Cleaning, Procurement, Electronic Transactions, Logistics in Country of Origin and Logistics in Destination Country. Each track covered operational aspects as well important customer relationship and supplier relationship matters, drawing on both company experience and new industry best practices.
In his welcoming remarks, V-LINE CEO Detlev Daues said "the new website marks the transition we have been making in our MRO supply business from a trading company model to a services provider model, by investment over the last five years in staff growth and training, business processes, facilities and software and IT capabilities". "It pictures how we can now manage a large plant's entire weekly flow of cross border parts and supplies in addition to supplying of individual orders on an enquiry basis as when we started 25 years ago" he said.
Sessions were lead by panels of V-LINE headquarters and visiting regional managers and invited outside human resources and growth development consultants. Long days of informational tracks and budgetary meetings were punctuated by a tour of a centuries old silver mine and outdoor activities in this scenic and historic mountain area.
