Sehnde, Germany / August 31, 2018. On Friday, the headquarters of V-LINE EUROPE GmbH welcomed political visitors: The CDU parliamentary group of the city council Sehnde came to see the company as closing act of their summer tour this year. Besides a general company presentation, the main topics were the challenges of medium-sized companies in today’s political environment.

CEO Detlef Daues welcomed the guests and presented facts and figures: from the main market Middle East to the relation with suppliers and the quantity of goods received and controlled daily. During the tour through the modern warehouses the visitors were able to see how these enormous logistical challenges are mastered day-to-day.

In an open discussion following the presentation, the attendees talked intensively about the political conditions influencing the fields of activity of the world trade. International politics, with the national isolation of specific countries, were part of the discussion as well as federal and regional politics with increasingly complicated export regulations. Also local politics with topics like broadband network, infrastructure, skill shortage and more were addressed. “It was a highly interesting, very exciting and really informative visit”, all politicians were agreed.

Parliamentary group leader Klaus Hoffmann resumed: “It was exactly the result we wished for our summer tour. We received interesting insights in the activities of a company and discussed about intersections of politics and economy. The gained insights are likely to help us in one form or another with our political work.”
